What will your typical day look like?  

 

At Deloitte, over the duration of each project, you will collect and analyse information, problem solve by conducting and testing your methods and provide client-tailored solutions and recommendations. You will work with a diverse range of high-profile public and private sector clients on their most important and challenging business issues by providing innovative and effective solutions.

  • Work on some of the most challenging private and public sector programs across sectors including Defence, automotive and energy and resources with local and international clients
  • Obtain experience from our global consulting network across different parts of the world, including international secondment and transfer opportunities
  • Build technical knowledge through the utilisation of various Deloitte developed and acquired assets and tools which augment problem solving

Our Australian team includes consultants with a diverse range of qualifications and experience, including hands-on industry expertise and specialists with extensive experience from some of the world's largest operations and asset intensive projects. Due to strong client demand for our services, we are currently seeking senior consultants with a passion for problem-solving to join our S&IT team. While prior experience in asset management, operations, or transformation/change across public or private sectors (including Defence, automotive, energy, and resources) is desirable, it is not a strict requirement.

 

An ideal fit for the S&IT team is someone who:

  • Leads workstreams within a project to ensure end-to end delivery of key objectives, milestones and outcomes, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency throughout 
  • Has strong analytical skills that can be applied to deliver data driven insights and actionable recommendations
  • Demonstrates expertise in structured problem solving
  • Approaches problems logically, questions assumptions, and develops well-reasoned conclusions
  • Is comfortable facilitating discussions and workshops using global domain area leadership knowledge and networks to shape solutions, together with client engagement
  • Proactively brings forward ideas, independently generates recommendations, and proposes solutions
  • Has highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships with a range of clients
  • Draws on strengths to meet personal and team objectives
  • Shares knowledge and experience to support development of peers and juniors
  • Embodies a strong sense of team and a passion to develop others as well as themselves
  • Australian citizenship for AGSVA baseline clearance

 

Specific experience in one or more of the following areas is desirable but not necessary:

  • Consulting experience in a consulting firm, boutique strategy house, engineering advisory firm and / or an internal consulting/business improvement role
  • Operations improvement, transformation or implementation/delivery background in Defence, automotive, energy, and resources or similar sectors
  • Experience in the use of structured consulting approaches/frameworks
  • An understanding of supply chains, logistics and/or procurement
  • An understanding of digital technologies (such as Tableau, Power BI, SQL) and how they are applied to optimise business outcomes
  • STEM related qualifications and experience
  • Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) skillsets which may include due diligence, problem solving, media analysis, foreign language aptitude
