This is a Canberra-based Senior Manager opportunity in our Engineering team, where you'll help government clients modernise critical network environments while growing your own career in a team that values learning, teamwork and engineering excellence.

What will your typical day look like?

You'll lead network engineering work that goes beyond keeping systems running, helping clients modernise the way their environments are designed, delivered and managed. That includes shaping assessments, architecture, migrations and transformation programs across enterprise networking, security and cloud, with a strong focus on automation, Infrastructure as Code and more scalable engineering practices.

Code-first thinking is a big part of how this team works. You'll help bring modern approaches into client environments through tooling, configuration management, compliance, monitoring and reporting, while guiding teams toward more efficient, repeatable and future-ready ways of working.

Just as important is the role you'll play in the team itself. Working closely with cloud, infrastructure and application development specialists, you'll mentor others, share knowledge openly and help create an environment where people keep building their skills while delivering meaningful outcomes together.

About the team

You'll be joining an Engineering team that cares deeply about how the work gets done, not just the outcome. The Network Engineering team combines deep technical capability with a strong learning culture, where people work together across disciplines, share ideas generously and keep pushing toward better engineering practices. With close links to Cloud, Infrastructure and Application Development specialists, this is a team where you can broaden your experience, build your leadership profile and keep growing your expertise in a genuinely collaborative environment.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:
- 5 plus years of experience in network engineering, network security or related infrastructure environments
- Strong expertise across routing, switching, load balancing and firewall technologies
- Experience leading network assessments, architecture, design, migration or transformation initiatives
- Exposure to cloud networking across AWS, Azure or GCP
- An understanding of automation, Infrastructure as Code, SDN, NetDevOps or CI/CD in network environments
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for technical and executive audiences
- Experience leading teams, building trusted stakeholder relationships and delivering outcomes from planning through to execution
- Australian citizenship and a current government security clearance, or the ability to meet government clearance requirements
