About the team

Deloitte's Infrastructure & Industrials team is growing rapidly and works on some of the most high-profile infrastructure and government service projects. We offer a collaborative environment where you'll work closely with industry leaders who are passionate about your professional growth.

Our team in Canberra focuses primarily on serving Defence clients, where we apply our deep understanding of their unique challenges and regulatory environments. This involves delivering tailored solutions that meet demanding requirements while driving innovation and efficiency.

Our team’s work spans the entire infrastructure and industrials lifecycle, including:

  • End-to-end procurement including strategy, design and execution
  • Commercial advisory and negotiations
  • Financial and economic analysis
  • Project and program management
  • Policy development

 

What will your typical day look like?

Expect to work closely with government clients to lead and support end-to-end procurement for major infrastructure and industrial programs. On a day-to-day basis, you might find yourself:

  • Leading end-to-end lifecycle procurement activities from market engagement and sourcing strategy to contract award and negotiation.
  • Designing and implementing commercial frameworks that align with strategic procurement objectives.
  • Advising on procurement planning, probity, evaluation processes, and contract management to drive value for money and commercial outcomes.
  • Managing high-profile tender processes, particularly within the Defence and government sectors.
  • Contributing commercial and procurement expertise to Program Management Offices and advisory teams.

As a Senior Manager, you would be expected to

  • Lead multiple engagements and deliver high quality results by leveraging each person’s strengths to build high performing teams.
  • Contribute to building a diverse talent pipeline creating a talent experience that attracts, develops and retains diverse top talent.
  • Lead high-value sales efforts and mobilise resources while holding self and others accountable for sales pipeline.
  • Collaborate to leverage networks and people across Deloitte to harness the depth and breadth of Deloitte.

We are looking for the following must haves:

  • An Australian Government Security Clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • A deep commitment to public sector work and a strategic understanding of government investment drivers, particularly in complex or high-stakes environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing procurements, delivery projects and/or overseeing contract performance in Defence, Government, or relevant private sector contexts.
  • Experience in managing teams, driving professionalisation and performance.
  • Strong professional background in consulting or contracting within the infrastructure or industrials sectors.

You may also have the following skills / experiences, which would be valuable to the role:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification or relevant certification i.e Cert IV/Diploma In Government, Procurement and Contracting.
  • An ability to apply commercial, financial, and economic insights to inform executive-level decision-making.
  • Experience working with or within the Australian Defence Force (reservists and veterans strongly encouraged to apply).
  • Understanding of Federal and/or ACT Government structures, operations, and stakeholder environments.
