Our Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (A&AI) practice within Deloitte Consulting is leveraging established and emerging technologies to maximise our clients’ productivity and freedom to innovate. As an A&AI Consultant you will be empowered to identify opportunities for, and implement, machine learning capabilities, reporting platforms and enterprise data technologies. We are now looking for knowledgeable and passionate people to help accelerate an expansion of our Data & AI capability in the industries of Defence, Security and Justice (DS&J). 
The Data & AI team at Deloitte, under which A&AI resides, comprises over 450 specialist practitioners across Australia, each of whom are constantly curious and excited about combining their business acumen and technological expertise to create data-centric solutions that help solve complex problems to help transform our clients’ businesses. 


In the Canberra A&AI team, you will be working with practitioners with experience in the Government sector, Australian Defence and intelligence communities and private sectors clients from the industries of mining, energy, finance and more. We help public and private sector clients to design and implement world leading solutions and capabilities. From automated logistics problem-solving, to smarter defence systems with the Australian Defence Force, to better support for low cost housing -  we are the partner of choice for our clients and alliance members.
Our relationships with market leading vendors such as AWS, Microsoft, Google, Apple, Snowflake, Salesforce, and Informatica enable our practitioners to be at the forefront of new and emerging capabilities and to deliver our suite of services at scale. About the Role

  • Help clients drive significant business outcomes and ROI by leveraging Intelligent system capabilities and insights uncovered through visualisation and statistical analysis
  • Drive business process analysis and assessments for engagement opportunities, understand their challenges, and prepare documentation of solutions and implementation
  • Understand the importance of operational security and the impact of good cyber practices in commercially and legislatively sensitive engagements 
  • Analyse, understand and document the business processes in detail where required and communicate effectively with business counterparts and stakeholders
  • Extract, transform and load data from source systems to various data analytics tools
  • Design solutions in accordance with Deloitte, client and vendor specific standards
  • Configure new processes and technical objects using core architecture principles that are efficient, well structured, maintainable, and easy to understand
  • Delivery and support of intelligent and analytics solutions by following best practices and delivery/support lifecycles
  • Communicating with software vendor support team for technical issues and participating with other user community
  • Working within project planning constraints, communicating any identified project risks and issues to the delivery/project manager accordingly and providing inputs to the change control process
  • Guiding and supporting junior team members as required



Knowledge and Experience Required      

  • At least 3 years of working experience in AI/ML and/or Analytics spaces.
  • Experience in delivering technical solutions, including but not limited to Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Cognitive agents, and data visualisations.
  • Experience working in environments with high operational security standards.
  • Good understanding of data modelling, and ETL tools.
  • Experience in Python, SQL, C++, SQL scripting, REST APIs or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple high-priority projects that meet schedules on time.
  • Ability to acquire and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Clearance of Baseline or NV1. Candidates who already cleared are encouraged to apply.  
  • In addition, the following experiences will be considered favourably
  • Experience in consulting environment across diverse domains. 
  • Experience in Defence, Security of Justice sectors.
  • Experience of software development projects, particularly analytics/data-science platforms or tools.
