Security Project Manager
Canberra, ACT, AU
Job Requisition ID: 41145
• Be part of market-leading projects with global scale and complexity
• Reimbursements for professional development and subsidised qualifications
• Enjoy 18 weeks paid parental leave plus 12 months of return-to-work support (work 4, get paid 5)
What will your typical day look like?
You’ll lead end-to-end delivery of security and technology projects, shaping plans, managing governance, and keeping work moving across multiple streams. That could mean coordinating vendors, tracking budgets and forecasts, running steering committees, and using tools like Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps and JIRA to maintain clear delivery visibility.
A big part of the role is helping clients make confident decisions in complex environments. Your work will support stronger cyber outcomes through structured risk and issue management, practical executive reporting, and delivery approaches tailored to the needs of each project, whether that’s PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum or a hybrid model.
Working closely with senior stakeholders, client teams and specialists across Deloitte, you’ll bring different moving parts into one cohesive delivery plan. The pace is varied, the problems are often ambiguous, and the work gives you the chance to lead with both structure and judgement in environments where security, trust and compliance matter.
About the team
Our team helps organisations build trust into the way they operate, transform, and grow. You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

- Strong planning and scheduling skills, with hands-on experience using Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar project delivery tools
- Experience managing budgets, forecasts and project financials, along with the ability to produce clear, concise executive reporting
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience running steering committees and working with senior decision-makers
- Solid risk and issue management capability, with a structured approach to problem-solving, prioritisation and decision-making under pressure
- Experience coordinating multiple vendors and bringing third-party workstreams together into a clear, cohesive delivery plan
- Practical knowledge of project methodologies such as PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, or hybrid delivery approaches, with the judgement to tailor them to project needs
- Experience in cyber security projects or familiarity with areas such as security controls, identity and access management, cloud security, or regulatory frameworks like the Privacy Act, ASD guidance, or APRA standards
- Experience in large government program evaluation and reporting is highly regarded, particularly in complex international or aid program settings, with exposure to concepts like GEDSI, value for money, and impact reporting viewed favourably
