Risk Advisory - Data & Analytics - 2020/21 Vacationer Program (Canberra)

Date:
Location:

Canberra, ACT, AU

Department:  Risk Advisory
Description:
  • Be part of Australia’s largest cohort of Vacationers – meaning you’ll have a community of other students to lean on and learn from!

  • Get involved in real client work that’s meaningful and purpose-led, developing and building your skills along the way

  • Work with industry leaders and experts, and a top-tier list of clients

You’re an absolute data nut. You love working with numbers and large data sets (the more unstructured – the better!). In Data & Analytics, we help clients navigate risks with insights from their data.

What will you get to do?
No two days are the same in the Data & Analytics Vacation Program. On a typical project, you’ll start off by sourcing and preparing data for analysis. Then, you’ll dive deep into the data to develop meaningful insights for the client using software like Excel, SQL and advanced statistical modelling software such as SAS, SPSS and R. Don’t fret, you'll have 100% support from the team as you pick up these new skills! Once you’ve discovered hidden data insights, you’ll get to develop tailored recommendations and solutions for the client. Pretty cool, right?

Your future starts with us.
Our Data & Analytics team covers five key analytic areas: Finance, Workforce, Supply Chain, Operations and Risk. Currently, we’re focusing on delivering data-driven internal audits, contract risk and compliance, reducing operational risk, driving cost reduction and controls transformation through analytics within public services, health services, energy resources and related industries!

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

You are an inquisitive student with a knack for solving complex problems. You may also have:

  • Completing a degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Studies, Physics, Engineering, IT, Computer Science or equivalent fields

  • A passion for data analysis and presenting data for visual impact

  • Enjoys working on ambiguous and fuzzy problems

  • Great interpersonal skills and thrive in collaborative environments
