About our Practice:

Our Cloud Managed Services (CMS) Practice consists of a diverse mix of skilled and experienced managed services personnel providing differentiated DevOps and cloud support services for leading edge technology transformation projects in steady state.

The Deloitte Cloud Managed Services team is responsible for providing our clients with the highest level of customer support services by using modern service management frameworks and leading operational tooling.

Our business is growing and we’re on the look-out for a Project Manager to join the team. The role includes a focus on delivering quality technical outcomes and being Customer focused.

 

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

Planning Ability

  • Oversee project planning and execution, including managing large-scale programs for complex, mission-critical systems.
  • Convert customer requirements into detailed project scopes, outlining timelines, resource needs, and tracking risks, issues, and progress with comprehensive reporting.

Results Focused

  • Ensure efficient customer service operations before transitioning to Business-As-Usual (BAU) teams, potentially guiding or directing resources to achieve this.
  • Provide expert analysis and support for complex business and technology challenges, offering well-researched solutions.
  • Identify areas for improvement, develop enhancement solutions, and oversee their implementation.

Be a People Person

  • Guide project teams through planning and delivery, ensuring clear communication and mutual understanding.
  • Lead and manage contract Project Managers and support staff, optimizing resources to reduce costs and enhance scalability in live environments.
  • Collaborate with CET and customers to understand end-user requirements, acting as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders while managing expectations effectively.

Professional, Technical, and Product Knowledge

  • Evaluate project opportunities based on complexity and apply the appropriate level of rigor.
  • Develop and implement project management processes and procedures.
  • Create and manage project schedules using MS Project.

 

Skills/ Qualifications

  • This position requires qualifications in one or more of the following:
    • Engineering
    • Information Technology
    • Project Management
    • Business Management
  • Manage project-related relationships and resolve issues by coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including technical and vendor inputs, to meet project scope, resources, and timelines.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis and effective remediation strategies.
  • Exhibit strong leadership, influencing, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Communicate exceptionally and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Possess a minimum of seven years’ experience in delivering large-scale programs for complex, mission-critical systems.
  • Have experience working with ITIL, PMI, PRINCE2, or PMBOK methodologies.
  • Be proficient in using tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
  • Demonstrate experience in migrating services from in-house, on-premise solutions to cloud-based or “as a Service” solutions.
  • Coordinate the input of both internal and external technical teams and vendors to achieve project objectives.
  • Resolve project issues and ensure alignment with approved resources and agreed timeframes.

 

Work Entitlement

Due to the nature of the clients this role will be working with, you must be an Australian Citizen and must be willing to undertake the Australian Government Security Vetting process.
