About the team

Our team partners with organisations to bring strategy to life by building efficient, effective and future-ready operations. We work closely with public sector agencies to solve their most complex, high-impact operational challenges. With deep technical, operational and public-sector expertise, we help clients transform how they work — boosting efficiency, reducing costs and harnessing new technologies to meet evolving citizen and market expectations.

What will your typical day look like?

In this role, you’ll work directly with high-profile public sector clients on their most important and challenging business priorities. You’ll tackle complex operational issues, shape practical solutions and guide clients through meaningful transformation. You will:

  • Deliver high-quality outcomes and support clients to achieve performance, efficiency and profitability goals

  • Lead and manage some of the most inspiring and high-visibility public sector programs

  • Develop and grow a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring and leadership

  • Draw on your experience alongside Deloitte’s global capabilities in Structured Problem Solving, Operating Model Design, Process Improvement, Design Thinking, Digital and Data Analytics

  • Build strong relationships and deliver projects on time, aligned to client expectations

  • Work with leaders to identify new market opportunities and support the development of winning proposals

  • Contribute to thought leadership, talent development and the running of Deloitte’s Canberra practice

  • Access extensive training in operations and transformation (both formal and on-the-job)

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.

We’re looking for practitioners with significant experience in operations advisory, transformation or program orchestration within the Federal Government environment.

You are someone with:

  • A proven track record of hypothesis-driven analysis, problem solving and delivering outstanding results in dynamic, client-facing environments

  • Experience working in teams to deliver complex projects in advisory or in-house roles

  • Strong analytical capabilities (desktop research, data analysis, document review) with the ability to synthesise information into clear, compelling outputs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex ideas at both Executive and working levels

  • A demonstrated ability to build strong client and stakeholder relationships

  • Adaptable facilitation and communication skills, with a proactive, curious mindset

  • Experience leading and mentoring teams, with a passion for developing people

  • Experience creating business development materials

  • Demonstrated experience in Operating Model Design, Process Improvement, Service Design or Digital Transformation

  • Minimum AGSVA Baseline clearance

  • Canberra-based
