What will your typical day look like?
- AI Project Execution & Delivery – Lead and manage AI projects, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of solutions. Oversee technical development, model deployment, and AI system integration.
- Client Engagement & Relationship Management – Act as the primary client contact for projects, ensuring alignment with business needs. Support Senior Managers in expanding client relationships.
- Team Leadership & Development – Manage and mentor AI professionals within project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
- AI Innovation & Best Practices – Contribute to the development of cutting-edge AI methodologies and ensure adherence to industry best practices.
- Business Development Support – Assist Senior Managers in identifying business opportunities, developing proposals, and contributing to Deloitte’s AI thought leadership..

We’re looking for candidates with a combination of the following:
- At least 6 years’ experience data engineering, feature engineering and/or model development using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques
- Experience leading and developing technical teams
- Demonstrated ability to delivercomplex Data and AI projects
- Experience working with one or more AI, ML or other advanced analytics framework (such as scikit-learn, tensorflow, Keras, openCV, spaCy)
- Demonstrable experience of one or more relevant programming languages e.g. Python, R, Julia
- Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Governance, Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCP) and project management skills will be highly desirable
- Experience with cloud services (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience of different project life cycles and delivery methodologies (waterfall, scrum, agile)
- Demonstrable experience working in a consulting environment or managing non-technical stakeholders
- Government (ideally Federal Government and Defence) experience will be highly regarded
- Bachelor or MS degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or similar quantitative disciplines.
- Australian Citizenship required
- Federal Government security clearance is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Educational Background – Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications (AI, cloud, project management) are beneficial.
- Technical Expertise – Proficiency in Python, R, or similar languages, experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn), and familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Client & Communication Skills – Strong ability to translate technical AI concepts into business insights and communicate with stakeholders at various levels.
- Project & Team Management – Proven track record of leading AI project teams, managing timelines, budgets, and risks. Experience in Agile methodologies is a plus.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 7 years' experience in advanced data and analytics environments, including leadership roles and client-facing positions. Proven track record in managing and delivering AI projects across various industries.
