Are you a problem solver with an appetite for Software Development?

What will your typical day look like?

A typical day for a software engineer in Deloitte’s Canberra engineering team starts with a morning stand-up meeting, where they sync with multidisciplinary colleagues—project managers, business analysts, and fellow engineers—to discuss progress, blockers, and immediate priorities. The core of the day involves hands-on coding, code reviews, and solution design, often leveraging cloud platforms and modern frameworks to deliver secure, scalable applications for government and public sector clients. Alongside technical delivery, engineers participate in stakeholder workshops, sprint planning, and technical briefings, frequently collaborating with cybersecurity, data analytics, and DevOps specialists to ensure robust, compliant outcomes on projects such as digital identity solutions, data integration platforms, or public-facing web applications.

About the team

Deloitte’s engineering team excels in delivering technology-driven solutions, with core strengths in systems integration, cloud transformation, and digital product development tailored to complex client needs. Recently, they have spearheaded projects like large-scale cloud migrations for financial services clients and the development of data analytics platforms supporting public sector innovation. Their work consistently drives operational efficiency and scalability across the organisation, underpinning Deloitte’s reputation for technical excellence and client-focused outcomes.
