Infrastructure Engineer - Canberra

Date:  20 May 2026
Location:

Canberra, ACT, AU

Department:  In-Demand Skills
Description:
  • Design and deliver secure hybrid infrastructure across cloud, on-premises and air-gapped environments for complex client needs in Canberra.

  • Tackle big issues like cyber, trust, resilience and digital transformation

  • Mentoring, coaching and leadership programs to help you make an impact that matters

This is a Canberra-based opportunity for a Senior Consultant to help clients build resilient, compliant infrastructure environments where security, performance and reliability really matter.

What will your typical day look like?

You will lead the design and deployment of robust enterprise infrastructure solutions, encompassing networking and server architecture, across hybrid cloud environments including AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, and on-premises data centres. This involves configuring secure network enclaves utilising technologies like Cisco, establishing air-gapped server infrastructure, and deploying containerised workloads via OpenShift and OpenStack on RHEL-based servers, all while ensuring seamless integration with Active Directory and the broader Red Hat ecosystem.

Working across complex client requirements, you'll run solution design workshops, translate business needs into scalable architecture, and guide delivery from build through testing and validation. Your work will directly support clients operating in highly regulated environments, where compliance, resilience, and governance are critical to success.

No two engagements will look exactly the same. Alongside clients, architects and engineering teams, you'll use tools like Terraform, Ansible, Python and Bash to automate infrastructure, improve lifecycle management through Red Hat Satellite, and strengthen observability with platforms such as Dynatrace, Splunk, CloudWatch and Azure Defender.
