About the role

This dynamic role is part time and will be suited for an ambitious student who is interested in gaining exposure to the public sector in a role that will involves providing services as part of a broader service delivery team. The successful candidate will receive hands on training, opportunities for autonomy in task delivery, subject matter technical development and front line exposure to client service delivery under the guidance of experienced consultants.

This role involves a core focus on the financial services function of a federal government entity and also provides opportunities for work to support the consulting team outside this core client function on other clients. The ideal candidate must be comfortable with working in teams to learn, develop and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

You will also be exposed to specialist areas across taxation consulting, financial systems functions and governance and risk management policy development. 

This role would suit a second-year university student who is available to work part time (2 days per week or 15 hours per week).

 

About the team

In the Indirect Tax team our services cover all aspects of indirect tax management, including tax technical advisory, compliance, systems and process reviews, due diligence reviews, revenue authority information requests/reviews/audits, and dispute management. Including:

  • Goods and services tax (GST)
  • Customs and excise duty
  • Fuel tax credits
  • Wine equalisation tax (WET)

You are an ambitious student who: 

  • Is in their second year of a law, business or public policy degree
  • Has interpersonal skills required to team effectively with our clients and their employees
  • Has commitment to client centric service 
  • Has analytical and numerical skills
  • May have skills in Excel, Visio, Power BI, PowerPoint
  • Has Australian Citizenship
