We are seeking an exceptional, senior Executive Assistant to support the Canberra Office Managing Partner (OMP). This is a permanent opportunity to play a highly trusted, influential role at the centre of the Canberra business; supporting strategic priorities, major client opportunities, and the leadership agenda for the market.
This role goes well beyond traditional executive support. You will operate as a true extension of the OMP; trusted to exercise judgment, anticipate needs, lead independently, and represent the OMP with confidence across the firm.
This is a strategic, fast-paced and highly visible role, suited to someone who thrives on autonomy, has strong commercial acumen, and is comfortable operating with ambiguity, pace, and senior stakeholders.
What will your typical day look like?
Working closely with the Canberra OMP, you will have full ownership of how the role is delivered, managing priorities, relationships and outcomes with minimal direction. You will be deeply embedded in the OMP’s remit and trusted to act decisively, confidently, and professionally on their behalf.
You will:
- Act as a strategic partner to the OMP, helping shape priorities, prepare for key decisions, and ensure focus is maintained on high-value activities
- Operate as an extension of the OMP, representing them in meetings and interactions where appropriate, and confidently progressing matters independently
- Anticipate risks, issues and opportunities; proactively resolving matters before they escalate
- Balance strategic support with operational excellence, ensuring the OMP’s time, energy and attention are deployed where they matter most
- Navigate complex stakeholder environments calmly and effectively, particularly under pressure
This role requires confidence, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to lead without authority - while remaining grounded, collaborative and solutions-focused.
About the team
You’ll be joining a high-performing and collaborative Canberra leadership environment, with exposure across all levels of the firm. No two days will be the same. This role is both operational and strategic. When done well, it creates clarity, momentum and space — enabling leaders and teams to focus on what matters most and helping the Canberra business continue its strong growth trajectory.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You may have all or some of the following skills and experience:
- Provide strategic support to the OMP, including briefing notes, decision support, and preparation for key internal and external engagements
- Exercise sound judgment and make decisions autonomously within agreed parameters
- Act as a trusted point of contact for senior stakeholders across the firm
- Manage a complex, high-stakes calendar with precision, prioritising client focus, leadership commitments and strategic outcomes
- Liaise confidently with Partners, Directors, Managing Directors and external stakeholders
- Demonstrate exceptional executive presence, discretion and professionalism
- Lead end-to-end coordination of internal and external events (Partner meetings, Partner Connect lunches, leadership forums, client events)
- Influence agendas and outcomes to align with business priorities
- Prepare high-quality PowerPoint presentations, briefings and written materials
- Manage expenses, systems updates, and compliance requirements accurately
- Strong project management, organisation and prioritisation skills
- Calm, proactive and solutions-focused under pressure
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities
- Contribute positively to the Assistant Community and broader office culture
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced MS Office capability
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- High attention to detail, balanced with strategic perspective
