What will your typical day look like? 
 
As a Director within our Human Capital practice, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of exciting projects, work with collegiate, highly skilled, supportive teammates and deliver exceptional client service to our Defence, Federal Government and Defence Industry clients – helping them solve challenges that truly matter to their organisation. 
 
We advise clients on a range of people related challenges including: 

•    Workforce strategy design: Defining the future workforce to support the realising of business priorities and changes to work, workers and the workplace 
•    Strategic workforce planning and analytics: Forecasting future skills, FTEs and costs associated with probable future business scenarios 
•    Evidence based talent management practices: Designing robust, research and data driven and practical talent practices, including leadership development, capability frameworks, career architectures, learning, recruitment, diversity and inclusion and wellbeing 
•    Technology uplift – solve complex problems by carrying forward issue based client conversations 
•    Workforce transformation: We support clients in maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of human capital by discussing, designing and implementing work redesign strategies 
 
As a Director, you will: 

  • Play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of our Human Capital practice to maximise impact within the Defence and Federal Government market. You will drive business development efforts and oversee the delivery of high-impact projects. 

  • Partner with clients at all levels across Defence and Federal Government to address key work and workforce challenges. 

  • Lead and oversee cross-functional project teams ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality results - using innovation to solve clients' operational challenges 

  • Demonstrate an exceptional understanding of complex operations management and the ability to manage several client projects concurrently 

  • This role requires proven people management capabilities, exceptional team leadership skills and the ability and desire to develop others in their careers 

  • Foster a culture of growth by mentoring junior consultants, developing internal management consulting capabilities, and contributing to business development 

  • Evaluate and optimize workflows to streamline operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and enhance overall performance. 

  • Utilise data-driven approaches, including statistical analysis and modelling, to generate meaningful insights and guide business strategies. 

  • Craft clear and well narrated slides, transforming detailed technical findings into engaging presentations that inspire confidence and action among key stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • At least 10+ years of experience in management consulting or senior internal project advisory roles, with a strong focus on workforce and organisational transformation in the Defence and Federal Government context 

  • Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to scope, frame, cost, and deliver concurrent projects in a risk mitigated and profitable fashion. 

  • You have a proven track record of helping clients identify and achieve measurable improvements in areas such as workforce performance, cultural reform, leadership and learning, and work redesign. 

  • Proven experience leading transformation consulting projects, managing senior relationships within Defence and Federal Government, and managing large, diverse, geographically dispersed teams, virtually and face-to-face. 

  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex organisational issues using a hypothesis-based approach alongside strong analytical and quantitative skills. 

  • Ability to translate complex technical insights into captivating narratives, in final deliverables, through compelling presentation and storytelling. 

  • Demonstrated experience in leading client pursuits and ability to adapt to market trends with innovative solutions. 

  • Proven ability to quickly build rapport and grow client relationships to establish a strong network in the market. 

  • Experience in a leadership role emphasising the capability to manage high performing consulting teams, grow and developing junior team members to develop future leaders and driving a culture of continuous learning. 

  • Able to understand current market trends and disruptions, particularly in Defence and Public Sector. Be quick to adapt to changing market conditions and are comfortable navigating complex client landscapes to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
