We are seeking talented and inquisitive Consultants to join our Organisation and Work Transformation (OWT) team and help us drive transformation in workforce strategy, work redesign, target operating model, learning and reskilling, and career pathway development with our Defence and national security clients to create lasting change. What will your typical day look like?   

  

As a Consultant within our OWT practice, you will be responsible for driving core project delivery including stakeholder engagement, product development, coordination and resource management. You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of exciting projects, work with collegiate, highly skilled, supportive managers and peers to deliver exceptional advisory and implementation services to our Defence clients – helping them solve challenges that truly matter to their organisation and the defence of our nation. 
 

  • Work within scoped, costed, and risk-managed projects developing outputs and deliverables within your workstream including redesigning roles, structures, and processes.  

  • Partner with Defence and Government stakeholders to align organisational strategies with their mission and priorities.  

  • Develop and implement workforce strategies that enhance capability, flexibility, and sustainability.  

  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions with clients to identify challenges and co-create solutions.  

  • Contribute to thought leadership on trends and best practices in organisational design and workforce planning. 

  • Co-design and develop learning interventions and training materials to address capability gaps and enhance reskilling within the workplace and Defence’s largest training centres.

You have a natural curiosity about Defence and national security, and the interrelationship between work, worker, and workplace. To succeed you will have the following experience and attributes: 

 

  • You are based in Canberra or willing to relocate to take on the position. 

  • You are an Australian Citizen and hold a current (or are in the process of applying for an) Australian Government Security Clearance. 

  • You have two to three years of professional experience in an advisory, HR service delivery, and/or national security context. 

  • You have tertiary, vocational, and/or peak body qualifications and certifications relevant to our OWT service offerings. 

  • You demonstrate social perceptiveness, by listening well and being able to incorporate feedback into personal development and professional growth. 

  • You have a design mindset, delivering a unique and customised customer service solution by using logic, imagination, intuition, and systemic reasoning to explore possibilities of what could be and by as a means of creating the desired outcomes that benefit the end user. 

  • You are passionate about personal development. You understand what drives you and you actively seek feedback from your peers as well as leaders. You take action on the feedback received and seek challenging and meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth and development. 

  • You’re able to collaborate and work as part of a team. You are attentive to the needs of others and understand what needs to be done in order to achieve collective success. You provide meaningful contributions when on a team and never hesitate to help others when needed. 

  • You're digitally savvy and embrace emergent technologies. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can easily adapt to new tools and trends 

  • You’re able to demonstrate previous experience in managing multiple priorities and delivering quality commitments on time (consulting or HR industry experience is an asset). 

  • You have strong business acumen, with ability to quickly translate theoretical concepts into practical outcomes that deliver business value
