About the team

Deloitte’s Analytics & AI practice is a diverse team comprised of experts across strategy, insight advisory, data engineering, mission engineering, systems engineering, data science and automation. We have a dedicated focus on solving business problems for our clients.  Our services range from helping clients understand the potential of Analytics & AI through to designing and implementing solutions.  We constantly evaluate new technologies, experiment with new techniques and create leading-edge data and analytics assets that can be used by our clients and practitioners to drive success with Analytics & AI. You will be part of a close, collaborative team that identifies and builds solutions that are practical as well as visionary, and that make an impact that matters.

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Mission Engineering Analyst to support business analysis and requirements engineering efforts within the Mission Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Mission Engineering Manager, this role focuses on capturing stakeholder needs, defining system requirements, and supporting traceability across complex Defence projects. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with a keen interest in systems thinking and mission-focused capability development.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you.  

We’re looking for candidates with a combination of the following:   

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Analysis, or a related technical field.
  • Experience in requirements engineering or business analysis roles desirable.
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, or similar) is desirable.
  • Good communication and facilitation skills, with an ability to interact with a range of stakeholders.
  • Awareness of the systems engineering lifecycle and requirements best practices.
  • Awareness of MBSE tools or approaches (e.g., SysML, Cameo, Enterprise Architect).
  • Experience working in Defence, aerospace, or similarly complex domains will be highly considered.
  • Basic understanding of Defence capability development frameworks and acquisition processes.
  • Able to obtain a security clearance up to a NV1 level, and desirably an active clearance.

What you will be doing

  • Support the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of stakeholder needs and system requirements.
  • Assist in developing requirement specifications and maintaining traceability throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Contribute to the development of mission and system architectures, ensuring alignment with user needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and interviews to support stakeholder engagement and analysis activities.
  • Collaborate with technical and operational staff to translate mission needs into system-level requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of MBSE artefacts.
  • Support verification planning and requirements validation activities.
