What will your typical day look like?
As a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineer at Deloitte, you will lead the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise-grade infrastructure solutions combining cloud platforms, on-premises hardware, and edge technologies. Your expertise will span DELL server infrastructure, Cisco networking (switches and firewalls), and secure integration with Active Directory, ensuring resilient, scalable environments that meet stringent compliance and security standards.
Your daily responsibilities include architecting and managing hybrid cloud environments across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and deploying containerized workloads using OpenStack, Red Hat OpenShift (RHEL), and leveraging Red Hat Satellite for lifecycle and patch management. You will design and implement secure enclaves and air-gapped environments tailored to regulatory requirements, while incorporating edge computing architectures to support decentralized processing needs.
Automation and observability are central to your role, utilizing tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Bash scripting for infrastructure as code, alongside monitoring solutions like Dynatrace, Splunk and CloudWatch, Azure Defender to maintain operational excellence. Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and incident resolution processes will ensure reliability and transparency.
Collaborating closely with clients and internal stakeholders, you will analyze complex technical requirements, lead solution design workshops, and translate business needs into scalable infrastructure architectures. You will act as a trusted advisor throughout the implementation lifecycle, conducting thorough testing and validation to guarantee performance, security, and compliance.
Your deep familiarity with Engineering Approval Board processes will enable you to develop infrastructure designs, ensuring adherence to governance frameworks and industry best practices.
In this role, you will be pivotal in delivering secure, compliant, and innovative cloud and infrastructure solutions that align with client objectives and regulatory mandates, driving transformation through technical excellence and robust collaboration.

Passionate about working with AWS, Microsoft Azure or GCP specifically around cloud migrations and transformations and Cloud.

Keen interest in designing cloud architecture covering IAAS, PAAS, SAAS services

Knowledge of AWS, Azure services, subscriptions, and cost optimization strategies

Skills covering cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS with experience in designing for container-based deployment (Docker or K8)

Architectural breadth across other infrastructure domains - Cloud networking, storage, backup, databases, and cybersecurity

Design, implement, and maintain secure and highly available infrastructure across multi-cloud and traditional data center environments.

Manage and optimize Active Directory services, Cisco networking equipment (switches, firewalls), Palo Alto firewalls, and edge compute devices.

Configuration and troubleshooting of load balancers, LAN routing, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, Proxmox, Xen), and storage arrays (Dell-EMC, NetApp).

Oversee structured cabling and physical infrastructure to ensure robust data Center operations.

Implement and manage security technologies including WAF/ADC, proxy servers, SIEM integration, and encryption protocols.

Configure and support authentication and identity management frameworks (SAML, OAuth, OIDC, AD,Entra, LDAP) and ICAM initiatives.

Collaborate with engineering and security teams to integrate OpenShift, RHEL, OpenStack, and platforms into the environment.

Configure system logs (Syslog) and security alerts, ensuring rapid response to incidents and adherence to compliance standards.

Participate in client engagements, delivering high-quality service, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.
Due to the nature of the role candidates based out of Canberra with Australian Citizenship and NV1 clearance would be highly desired for this role.
