Cloud Advisory Consultant

What will your typical day look like? 

You will work with clients and Deloitte teams to design technology strategies, operating models, and architecture roadmaps that unlock measurable business value. You’ll apply Generative AI responsibly using Deloitte’s guardrails and frameworks, ensuring secure, compliant, and trustworthy outcomes. 

Project Delivery 

  • Lead a project workstream, shaping technology strategy and enterprise/solution architecture into executable roadmaps, value cases, KPIs, and delivery plans 

  • Facilitate architecture and design decisions across cloud, data, integration, security, and GenAI, balancing risk, compliance, and speed-to-value 

  • Build and present business cases (TCO/NPV/ROI) with clear options, scenarios, and recommendations 

  • Support project scoping, delivery management, and lifecycle governance to de-risk execution 

Business Development 

  • Contribute to pursuit strategies, stakeholder mapping, and value hypotheses aligned to client priorities 

  • Lead or support RFP/RFQ responses, developing win themes, estimates, and client-facing materials 

  • Produce thought leadership on technology strategy, cloud modernisation, and responsible GenAI 

  • Collaborate with alliance partners to shape differentiated solutions and accelerators 

 

About the Team 

The Engineering Strategy & Architecture team helps clients align technology strategy, enterprise architecture, cloud adoption, and operating models to drive transformation and measurable outcomes. We lead with pragmatism, turning ambition into executable roadmaps and robust architectures. 

We are at the forefront of Generative AI, enabling responsible adoption through strong governance, architecture patterns, and risk management. As a Consultant/Senior Consultant, you will lead workstreams, coach junior team members, and remain hands-on in advisory-led programs. 

We are hiring for expertise in: 

  • Technology strategy and operating model design 

  • Enterprise and solution architecture 

  • Cloud strategy and transformation 

  • Business case and TCO modelling 

  • Architecture governance and tooling 

  • Engineering enablement and DevOps advisory 

We value experience across platform engineering, software engineering, and cloud infrastructure. In Canberra, public sector experience is strongly preferred.

As a Consultant/Senior Consultant, you bring strong project delivery experience and are progressing toward autonomous stream leadership. 

Experience 

  • Minimum 2+ years relevant experience (flexible based on capability and potential) 

Core Consulting Capabilities 

  • Proposal writing (RFP/RFQ), financial modelling (ROI/TCO/NPV) 

  • Strategic thinking and roadmap development 

  • Executive communication and workshop facilitation 

  • Hypothesis-driven problem solving 

  • Stakeholder management 

Technical Capabilities 

  • Workstream delivery management and governance 

  • Enterprise and solution architecture design 

  • Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP certified) and FinOps awareness 

  • Data, integration, and security strategy 

  • Responsible GenAI and automation patterns 

Domain Exposure 

  • Experience in regulated environments such as public sector, financial services, health, energy, consumer, or TMT 

 

Nice-to-have 

  • Certifications: TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP, AI or Responsible AI 

  • Tools: LeanIX, Orbus, Jira/Confluence, strong PowerPoint skills 

  • Methods: SAFe/Agile, FinOps, DevOps, platform engineering
