Companies don't stay on a straight path, and when performance drops or disruption hits, the work of Turnaround & Restructuring becomes critical. Through our Vacationer Program, you'll spend your summer helping clients analyse business performance, navigate financial challenges and support restructuring and insolvency matters alongside specialists in the field.

 

What will your typical day look like?

Over the course of your internship, you'll work on live client matters across restructuring, performance improvement and formal insolvency. You'll build practical skills in financial analysis, problem solving and stakeholder communication, while seeing how businesses respond when the stakes are high.

 

  • Support financial analysis to help assess business performance, cash flow and financial position

  • Assist with restructuring, insolvency and independent business review work, including preparing reports and other client deliverables

  • Help manage day-to-day matters on client engagements, including investigative work and communication with stakeholders

 

As well as learning in the flow of work, you'll be part of our structured Vacationer Program. You'll have a dedicated buddy, access to networking and social events, and the opportunity to be considered for an early graduate offer.

 

About the team

Turnaround & Restructuring helps clients navigate disruption, under-performance and financial distress with practical, commercially grounded advice. The team works across restructuring, performance improvement and formal insolvency matters, supporting clients through complex and often high-pressure situations. You'll be joining a friendly and welcoming team in Brisbane that collaborates closely with colleagues across eight locations nationally. It's a strong environment to learn from experienced practitioners while building skills on work that has real business impact.

We're seeking penultimate-year students to join our Vacationer Program.

 

You may have all or some of the following:

  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in learning

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset

  • Interest in restructuring, insolvency and performance improvement work

  • Comfort asking questions and learning through feedback

  • Alignment with Deloitte's values and inclusive culture

  • You'll be studying a relevant degree, such as Accounting, Business, Commerce, Finance or Law

  • You'll be eligible for the Chartered Accountants (CA) Program
