About the team 

Deloitte’s Platform Engineering practice are obsessed with all things tech and love the idea of changing the way that businesses leverage technology. Our team builds platforms so that our clients can disrupt industries before industries disrupt them. We build modern technology solutions that run on premise, in the cloud, or a hybrid of both!  We’re looking for Senior Performance Testing Consultants to join our Sydney & Melbourne team to work on a range of client projects.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Work with delivery stakeholders to define Performance engineering requirements, scope, workload models & recommended testing frameworks
  • Assist stakeholders with identifying and understanding performance risks and recommending mitigation strategies and approaches.
  • Develop performance testing suites using toolsets including Apache Jmeter, Gatling, Artillery, MicroFocus LoadRunner
  • Integrate performance and quality engineering frameworks with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevOps, automation, and various cloud technologies
  • Develop and execute component and system level performance tests
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Reporting on Performance test execution, coverage, and results
  • Participates in and contributes to all Agile team activities and events
  • Effectively manages risks, issues, dependencies, and stakeholders throughout the delivery
  • Lead and coach a small team to help create a participative and inclusive work environment


Enough about us, let’s talk about you:


  • Significant experience in performance test planning, workload modelling, capacity planning, scalability and stability testing, and stress testing of small to large scale applications
  • Experience diagnosing performance issues, and recommending and implementing performance tuning and risk mitigation approaches to address them
  • Performance testing experience across multiple platform architectures and technologies such as micro-services, APIs, databases, message queues, FTP etc.
  • Experience performance testing enterprise applications including Salesforce, SAP, Workday.
  • REST APIs is advantageous, as is an exposure to moving workloads to cloud environments including (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, exceptional attention to details.
  • 5+ years of experience in developing dynamic performance testing suites using at least 2 of the performance test tools - Apache Jmeter, Gatling, Artillery, MicroFocus LoadRunner
  • Experience monitoring applicationPerformance using one of the following Observability tools:Dynatrace, NewRelic, AppDynamics, Splunk, Sumo Logic etc.
  • Understanding of resilience testing and site reliability practices including Failover/DR testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, DevOps, automation, cloud technology
  • Good understanding of cloud networking concepts
  • Experience with both waterfall and agile testing methodologies
  • Critical thinking experience, ability to analyse and make informed decisions.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal, ability to negotiate and influence both internal and external customers
  • Demonstrate resourcefulness and adaptability
  • Desire to learn, innovate and think out of the box
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
