- Accelerate Your Career with Unmatched Exposure: Leverage the Deloitte brand and direct apprenticeship with industry Partners to build a fantastic career

Your expertise was forged at the intersection of major projects and operations - now, use it to steer their strategy. We are looking for ambitious early to mid-career consultants, project professionals, or engineers for our Capital and Program Advisory team to solve the most critical challenges for Australia's asset-intensive industries.
About the Role
As a Senior Consultant, you will not just write reports; you will embed and work alongside senior executives, government leaders, project directors and line managers to solve their most critical challenges. This is an opportunity to move beyond theory and apply your expertise to multi-billion-dollar projects and landmark transformations for ASX 200 clients and the public sector – including upcoming Olympics related infrastructure builds and Energy Transition projects. Your work will directly shape the future of Australia’s core industries, delivering tangible outcomes that create profound and lasting value.
We don’t just manage projects, we solve complex challenges using rigorous fact finding and data analysis that help our top tier clients build and operate some of Australia’s biggest assets – whether it be mine sites, roads and rail, or energy infrastructure.
What Will Your Day Look Like?
You will be a pivotal member of a high-impact project delivery team – some big, some small - where you will engage in following activities at the client site, in our offices and/or at home:
- Lead: Steer critical workstreams or own deliverables on consulting engagements supporting multi-billion-dollar capital projects and enterprise-wide transformations, moving far beyond simple project management
- Communicate: Translate complex findings into compelling, clear recommendations in shape of a report and/or presentation for C-suite and senior government stakeholders, influencing the strategic agenda and enabling them to make an informed decision
- Analyse Data: Apply rigorous, hypothesis-driven data analysis to analyse complex project and operational problems and deliver data-backed, strategic insights that drive executive decisions, typically using Excel and other modelling tools
- Innovate: Harness Deloitte’s global network and advanced methodologies, including Design Thinking and advanced data analytics, to pioneer unique solutions and accelerate client delivery
- Implement: Build trusted advisor relationships with clients to ensure solutions are not just delivered, but embedded and sustained for long-term impact
- Mentor: Help develop next generation of consultants by actively coaching and mentoring junior team members (for example graduates and vacationers), building capability across the practice
- Build Practice: Help write industry articles and internal best-practice guides that demonstrate Deloitte’s expertise to the market
- Grow Pipeline: Support Partners, Directors and Managers in responding to Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and developing proposals to win new work
About You
You are an exceptional problem-solver, ready to pivot your relevant industry expertise into high-stakes consulting, where your skills can have a greater impact. You are a
proven practitioner ready to trade reporting for strategy, compliance for creation, or a smaller pond for the Tier 1 clients and challenges that define a career. You are driven to solve complex, unstructured problems and are ready for a bigger stage.
Key Requirements
- You are ambitious and curious self-starter, with a strong desire to pivot your technical or project experience into a strategic advisory career and solve bigger, more complex problems.
- You have hands-on experience from within large-scale projects, likely gained in a heavy asset industry such as mining, power & utilities, transport, or infrastructure – through either direct exposure or in a consulting capacity
- We value your practical experience in one or more key areas across the project lifecycle: strategy, project controls (cost and schedule), contract management, risk analysis, operational and process improvement, and/or the implementation of digital project management tools.
- You have a knack for structured, hypothesis-driven problem-solving. You don't just follow the plan; you analyse the data, diagnose the root cause of issues, and develop practical solutions.
- You are a clear communicator, capable of translating complex technical details into credible updates for project leaders, clients, and other stakeholders.
- You build effective working relationships on the ground and can confidently engage with senior team members and client counterparts, as well your direct reports.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (like Excel, Power BI) and project management software and is highly valued.
What’s in it for you?
This is your opportunity to step up. You will gain access to landmark projects and C-suite conversations that are off-limits elsewhere, working with the Tier 1 clients that define a career. This is your chance to move from reporting on the project to leading the strategy, moving from the back office to the boardroom.
We provide access to industry-leading Partners to rapidly build your consulting toolkit and commercial acumen. This is your opportunity to pivot from a technical expert into a strategic advisor, applying your analytical rigour to solve problems that shape the future, not just audit the past.
Leverage the power of the Deloitte brand to build your professional reputation and unparalleled career. The experience you gain here creates unmatched exit opportunities, whether your ambition is to become a Partner or transition into a senior leadership role in industry.
Finally, trade the roster or rigid corporate structure for genuine, day-one flexibility. We trust you to manage your work and priorities, allowing you to build a sustainable, high-impact career while sleeping in your own bed. This is supported by benefits that matter, including competitive remuneration and salary packing, significant wellbeing leave and market-leading parental leave packages, and access to other benefits such as “Fitness Passport”, Employee Referral Program, and exclusive corporate perks with leading health and banking organisations.
