Join our team to help safeguard our clients' businesses. Use your expertise in evaluating, designing and enhancing controls to proactively manage our clients' key risks and to help shape effective, risk-aligned, and sustainable control environments.
What will your typical day look like?
As a senior analyst in Controls Assurance, you will deliver internal audit engagements across various industry sectors, while also supporting controls advisory, uplift and transformation projects that strengthen our clients’ risk and control frameworks.
Working in a dynamic environment, you will build strong relationships across our national team and be given client-facing responsibility across a range of assurance and advisory engagements at some of Australia’s most significant organisations. You will assess control design and operating effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and partner with clients to develop practical remediation strategies.
You will also develop your technical and advisory skills, lead junior team members, and contribute to our strong team culture.
About the team
Deloitte’s Controls Assurance team advises some of Australia’s most significant businesses and organisations on their control environments and provides assurance on the frameworks that stakeholders rely on.
Our goal is to deliver differentiated internal audit and controls advisory services while helping clients design, uplift and transform internal controls by harnessing the power of digital and data. We believe in truly understanding control issues and opportunities, partnering with clients to enhance governance, strengthen frameworks, and build resilience and readiness in an uncertain and transformational environment.

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to make the complex simple
- Proven ability to plan and execute process risk and control projects, assess control design and operating effectiveness, and critically analyse results to devise targeted mitigation plans, remediation strategies and practical control improvements
- Strong understanding of business processes and controls, with experience supporting control framework design, uplift or enhancement initiatives
- Exposure to controls advisory, internal audit and third-party controls assurance engagements
- Proven stakeholder management skills with an ability to lead interactions with business stakeholders, influence outcomes, and support implementation of control improvements
- Thrive in a multi-disciplinary team environment and can adopt different working styles to meet different methodologies and approaches
- A fast learner with a passion for sharing knowledge with the broader team, keeping up to date with emerging technologies and risks, and developing junior internal audit and controls professionals
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or CA certificates are preferred but not a mandatory requirement. Experience in risk management, data analytics, systems transformation or information systems is equally considered a bonus.
