Our Brisbane Quality Engineering practice is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Director to drive this growth. This role offers the chance to deliver high-quality, innovative technology platform solutions to a wide range of clients. You will work with a fantastic team from diverse backgrounds, collaborating to understand and solve clients' underlying technology problems. The primary focus is to deliver true business value and create meaningful impact for our clients.

About the role 

• The role of Director in the Quality Engineering practice has several responsibilities:
  • Delivery of testing services into complex technology and software delivery projects,.
  • Leading and mentoring the Brisbane quality engineering team as a senior member of the leadership team
  • Developing new opportunities in the market by building and nurturing client relationships
  • Evolving the Quality Engineering service offerings to define and meet the ’next generation’ demand from our clients.
• Through advisory and/or delivery leadership you will ensure quality is ‘built in’ to client’s IT systems, aligning with the delivery methodology, and working within project and program delivery leadership teams to take responsibility for quality of delivery.
• Consult with clients and partners across the breadth of software delivery, with expertise in all dimensions of quality in the software delivery lifecycle - both current and future trends. This will also include capturing and presenting this information, and the corresponding value added.
• Contribute to relentless improvement of the Quality Engineering practice.
• As a Director within our Consulting practice, you will be expected to understand and apply Deloitte’s methodologies for delivering our core services. Other expectations include foundational management consulting capabilities: 
  • Commercial Awareness: Demonstrate excellent commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess great interpersonal skills with experience in developing effective, long-lasting client relationships. Your significant influencing abilities within an organisation and your demonstrable ability to solve complex problems objectively using analysis, experience, and judgement are essential.
  • Project Proposals: Design and scope high-quality proposals, leading the work with effective engagement and people management throughout the opportunity.
  • Global Delivery Experience: Have experience delivering projects with Global Delivery teams.
  • Pipeline Management: Build, manage, and forecast a pipeline of opportunities across a portfolio of accounts and service offerings, including accurately rolling up weighted forecast figures to predict performance to plan.
  • Matrix Environments: Be accustomed to complex matrix environments offering multiple products and services to many clients and be comfortable acting as an “overlay” role, exercising your skills to influence internal and external stakeholders to drive agreed outcomes.
  • Communication: Ability to take complex analysis and present it in a concise and clear manner, appropriately tailored to people from a wide range of cultures, technical backgrounds, and seniorities.
  • Business Development: Show self-confidence and enthusiasm to be involved in business development activities.
  • Coaching: Contribute to the growth of direct reports through Deloitte’s coaching methodology.

About you 

• Passion for Consulting: You’ll be passionate about consulting to clients on the importance of software and systems quality from both technical and business perspectives.

• Experience:
  • Inclusive Teams: Built and cultivated inclusive, high-performance teams.
  • Program Test Management: Program test manager on multiple large-scale, multi-vendor engagements that you managed to a successful outcome.
  • Testing Coverage and Traceability: Managed testing coverage and traceability using industry-leading testing and DevOps platforms.
• Understanding: You have a sound understanding of:
  • Agile at Scale: Agile at scale and transforming organisations to agile ways of working.
  • Testing Techniques: Functional testing, test automation, and non-functional testing.
  • Effort Estimation: Estimating total Quality & Testing effort in both Waterfall and Agile methodology engagements.
  • Release Management: Release Management in both Waterfall and Agile methodologies to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Modern Principles: Modern Testing and Software Engineering principles, with a passion for data-driven transparency.
• Communication Skills: You communicate clearly and effectively, present confidently to senior executives, and express your opinions thoughtfully without arrogance.
