Our Graduate Program is a permanent, full-time role from day one, with structured learning, real-world client work, and hands-on projects to build your career. You’ll be supported by a dedicated buddy and coach, flexible work options, and wellbeing support as you grow your skills and confidence.

About the team
Within Sustainability & Climate, we have teams that operate across 3 specialist areas:

Energy & Climate - help solve energy and climate challenges for some of our biggest clients. Examples include procuring renewable energy for one of Australia’s largest mining companies, designing energy policy and regulation for various state and federal governments, working on strategies to decarbonise our energy system through hydrogen and bioenergy, electricity market modelling to enable new energy technology and infrastructure.

Strategy & Transformation - provides strategic and operational guidance to help organisations transition to a low-emissions, resilient, and inclusive economy. We drive sustainable transformation for businesses and communities in Australia and beyond. You'll engage in projects from commercialising new ventures to decarbonising operations, focusing on achieving Net Zero by 2050.

Risk & Resilience - we help companies respond to their customers, authorities, shareholders, and communities on their expectations for corporate social responsibility. We help our clients face challenges from corporate governance, risk management, economic, social and environmental aspects giving organisations the tools and insights to build a resilient and differentiated brand and customer experience.
What will your typical day look like?
No two days are the same in the Sustainability & Climate Team. At Deloitte, we are at the forefront of the energy transition and operational decarbonisation, guiding major industrial clients through complex challenges with innovative solutions. Our commitment to strategic risk management ensures that our clients not only meet regulatory demands but also seize new opportunities in the evolving energy landscape. Your work will support and drive real change as Australia and the world navigate the energy transition towards net-zero emissions.
You’ll be in an environment where you’ll learn from experts, tackle real challenges, and grow your skills in a supportive team. Depending on the team and project, you could:

Help solve energy transition and climate challenges for some of our biggest clients.

Analyse commercial strategies and initiatives to help organisations decarbonise.

Help clients take control of their reputation and become more resilient to risk.

Manage sustainability strategy, carbon and energy footprint, address issues like climate change and environmental compliance.
-
Corporate social responsibility reporting, energy efficiency management, greenhouse gas emission management and sustainable governance consulting.
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
We’re seeking final year students or recent graduates (within 2 years) to join our graduate program. As a naturally curious, bright, ambitious and hard-working student, you’ll also:

Be studying or completed a relevant degree in: Engineering (electrical or mechanical engineering preferred), Mining, Renewable Energy, Science, Environmental Studies/ Science, Climate Specialisation, Social Science, Psychology, Sustainability, Finance, Economics, Public Policy, Geology, Geography, Mathematics/Statistics, Actuarial Studies, Business/ Commerce, or Law.

Have strong qualitative or quantitative analytical and research skills as well as a drive for difficult problem-solving

Ability to work both autonomously and in a dynamic team environment as well being able to solve problems in an innovative way

Interest in renewable energy and climate change

The ability to think creatively, generate innovative ideas, challenge the status quo and deliver effectively

Combines structured, logical thinking, a robust analytical approach and the ability to define key elements of a problem
