About the team

The education practice at Deloitte Access Economics is continuing to expand and we are seeking a talented consultant and project manager, focusing on vocational and higher education, to join our team in Brisbane.


We use our public policy and economic expertise to provide rigorous analysis, insight and thought leadership to support policy makers, regulators and education providers.

Our team is a large specialist national practice comprising of more than 25 full-time economists, public policy practitioners and educationalists across Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Perth and Melbourne.

Our team is heavily involved in the most complex challenges and imperatives across the evolving and disrupted education landscape. We do this by applying a variety of analytical frameworks, models, and techniques, informed by the latest economic theory and insights across public policy.

We offer advice across the education continuum, from early childhood, through schooling and vocational training, to higher education, including:

  • policy and program evaluation and design
  • economic contribution and impact studies
  • market analysis and commercial advisory
  • funding and costing reviews.


What will your typical day look like?

Your opportunity within the education practice at Deloitte Access Economics will be:


  • to manage the delivery of quantitative and/or qualitative research projects for public and private sector clients across Australia. This includes project management, leading diverse teams across multiple offices, liaising with clients to understand, interpret and respond to their needs and developing high quality reports and presentations.
  • to contribute towards the ongoing success of the practice by supporting our business development activity, including responding to market opportunities and building and maintain relationships with current and potential clients.
  • to build knowledge across the practice, including sharing your expertise and experience in the sector across the team and developing thought leadership to stimulate debate, influence with our clients and their stakeholders.
  • contributing to our high performing culture by mentoring, coaching and guiding the professional development of our team, challenging their perspectives and providing opportunities, through our work program, to achieve their aspirations.

We are seeking an individual with a passion for education policy who has a commitment to leading and undertaking high quality analysis and advice, and a desire to work in a fast-paced and influential, team environment. In joining our team, you will bring the following attributes:

  • A passion for the education sector and a desire to be central in the design and implementation of policy reform across the VET, higher education or international education and training sectors.
  • A degree in economics, commerce, public policy (or other related disciplines), with strong academic results.
  • Experience as an economist, analyst, consultant, or advisor, ideally in other consulting firms or in analytical roles in institutions or education providers, applied academia or from economic, education or central agencies within governments.
  • An agile working style, with the ability to manage multiple research projects, project teams and competing client needs simultaneously.
