Engineering Director is a leadership opportunity in Brisbane for a senior technologist who wants to shape major client outcomes, grow a market, and build a career path that stays close to engineering.

What will your typical day look like?

As a senior technical leader, you'll shape and deliver complex engineering work across large transformation programs where reliability, trust and execution matter. That could mean setting the direction for a multi-disciplinary team, guiding solution decisions across cloud and custom engineering, or stepping in early to stabilise an engagement and reset the path forward.

A big part of the role is building trusted client relationships and turning those relationships into meaningful work. You'll help clients navigate complex technology challenges, bring the right people around the table, and lead commercially sound delivery across areas like AI, integration, cloud and software engineering.

In Brisbane, you'll also play a visible role in growing the local practice as part of a national Engineering, AI & Data business. About the team

Deloitte's Engineering, AI & Data team helps organisations design, build and scale modern technology solutions that solve meaningful business problems. Working across cloud platforms, software engineering, data and AI, the team delivers complex transformation programs in sectors like government, financial services and critical infrastructure, where performance, resilience and trust are essential.

Enough about us, let's talk about you

You may have all or some of the following skills/experiences:

• Significant experience leading engineering teams and complex technical delivery with broad scope and business impact

• Deep credibility in at least one major cloud platform, with experience across platform engineering, custom software development, enterprise integration and AI-enabled solutions

• Strong judgement across architecture trade-offs, delivery risk, operability and security in enterprise environments

• Demonstrated success building trusted client relationships and identifying, shaping and converting new engineering work

• Commercial fluency across solutioning, estimating, scoping, resourcing and delivery planning

• A leadership style that brings clarity in ambiguity, delegates well, and grows high-performing inclusive teams

• Experience driving AI-enabled ways of working across teams, including standards, adoption and quality outcomes

• Experience in consulting or professional services would be helpful
