About the team
The Deloitte Sustainability, Climate & Industrials (SC&I) Team works with the Senior Executives, CEOs and Boards of heavy asset organisations leading operational transformation and improvement programs. Our practitioners are problem solvers, with deep transformation, operations and industry insight. They apply their experience to diagnose and solve complex problems and design innovative, pragmatic solutions to achieve transformational success and outcomes.
What will your typical day look like?
As a Consultant/Senior Consultant your core focus is being part of a project delivery team, providing exceptional customer service, shaping deliverables and taking a leadership role for junior team and/or a workstream within a project. In addition to this, you will contribute to business development, thought leadership and team sales. Lead large and complex projects ensuring high-quality outcomes for our public and private sector clients whilst also supporting and driving sales initiatives within the business.
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include;
- Working largely independently to lead a stream of work including, determining client problems and co-designing options / solutions with clients in a structured and logical manner, as well as developing deliverable structures and presenting outputs to senior stakeholders
- Guiding the direction and delivery of qualitative and quantitative research and analysis
- Drawing on Deloitte’s unique capabilities in Structured Problem Solving, Design Thinking, Intelligent Major Capital Projects, Data Analytics, and experience from our global network
- Undertaking extensive operations and transformation focused training and development (both structured and on the job)
- Developing strong client relationships to deliver projects on-time and to clients’ expectations
- Directing junior practitioners in the delivery of work and coaching them to develop their own consulting capabilities
- Contributing to practice and business development activities e.g. through the development best practice methodologies, thought leadership material and/or sales materials
Enough about us, let’s talk about you.
You are a practitioner with operations, advisory, transformation, program management or similar experience in any industry, and from any professional background. You will be considered a safe pair of hands who can deliver solutions independently and on-time.
You are someone with:
- Variety of experiences in working in teams delivering complex projects in a client facing/advisory role, either in-house or in a consulting environment.
- A proven track record of hypothesis-driven analysis and problem solving, and delivering exceptional results for organisations in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
- Highly effective communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to articulate complex ideas and arguments effectively, both at executive and working level.
- Proven ability to manage and develop strong and enduring business relationships with senior clients within public and private sector organisations.
- Ability to deliver work largely independently and use your mastery of technical consulting skills to direct others
- Strong and adaptable facilitation and project management skills, with the curiosity to learn and proactively bring forward fresh ideas
- Preference for those with experience working in heavy asset industries, e.g. mining, power & utilities, transport
