What will your typical day look like?  

On a typical day, you will be working alongside stakeholders and team on creating a scope for Automation, as well as, 

  • Test Automation Development: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium/Playwright/WebdriverIO/Cypress, or equivalent frameworks.  

  • Test Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and create comprehensive test plans and strategies.  

  • Test Execution: Execute automated test cases, analyse results, and report defects and issues.  

  • Continuous Integration: Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure continuous quality and faster releases.  

  • Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain test scripts to ensure they are effective and up to date with the latest software changes.  

  • Documentation: Document test plans, test cases, and test results. Create and maintain technical documentation for automation scripts.  

  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of requirements and testing needs.  

  • Quality Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process through new tools, techniques, and best practices

Required interpersonal skills/experience 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Detail-orientation with a focus on quality. 

 

Required role specific skills/experience 

  • Proficiency in automation testing tools (e.g., Selenium/Playwright/WebdriverIO/Cypress or similar). 
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github, Bamboo, or AzureDevOps
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). 
  • Experience in BDD/TDD methodologies and tools like Cucumber
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Experience in testing mobile applications and APIs.
