Do you thrive on supporting Governments solve their most pressing strategic public policy challenges?  Are you passionate about supporting private and public sector clients navigate the complex challenges in the Energy sector?   

 

In this role, you will contribute to a variety of client engagements on a project-by-project basis. You will be a senior member of a team which helps articulate, solve and communicate solutions to complex problems through the use of quantitative analysis.

 

What will your typical day look like?
Your role will involve working within a high performing team who:
•    Engage with clients to gain an understanding of their requirements
•    Apply quantitative skills to develop robust analysis 
•    Communicate outcomes and recommendations 
•    Gain exposure to a range of industries including infrastructure, health, transport, justice, and energy & resources
•    Develop internal and external networks, contributing to the growth of the business

 

About the team

We are a diverse team with a high level of client interaction across all levels of staff.  Specifically, the team informs policy decisions, develops strategic recommendations, assesses project feasibility and prepares compelling business cases.

Examples of our work:
Our team has worked on a range of interesting and exciting projects. In the last few years, we have:
•    Helped state and federal governments quantify the impact of significant policy reforms
•    Undertaken financial analysis to support the development of business cases for significant infrastructure and ICT projects
•    Reviewed and developed approaches to pricing access to infrastructure
•    Assisted state and federal government departments assess and determine operating and revenue models for the delivery of services
•    Helped our clients navigate through the energy transition by building tools to support the financial analysis of alternative pathways and investment options
•    Developed financial models and provided advice to inform feasibility studies and business cases to support investment decisions, with a particular focus on emerging technologies such as hydrogen, renewable technologies and batteries
•    Provided financial analysis to support the development of the policy framework and investment decisions in relation to Renewable Energy Zones 
•    Supported clients in understanding the impact of being subject to a regulatory framework through the development of building block models to forecast regulated tariffs

 

Enough about us, let's talk about you.
You will bring commercial, financial or economic experience, and at least 5+ years of experience in an energy/public sector or advisory environment, with specific skills in:
•    Developing quantitative and qualitative analysis to support decision making 
•    Applying analytical frameworks using either financial, commercial or economic skills 
•    Communicating analysis in well-structured, evidence-based reports suitable for a variety of audiences including government and/or industry
