What will your typical day look like?
•    The ability to work as part of a team responding to clients and key stakeholders through the management of phone enquiries, collection of information and responding to requests for information on ongoing projects.
•    The ability to understand and grasp new concepts and processes. 
•    The ability to assess the value of requirements, and prioritise a backlog, to ensure work focuses on meeting client deliverables and maximising value in line with the business and product strategies.
•    Ability to pay attention to detail and gather accurate responses from stakeholders and to collate the information as required for ongoing reporting purposes.
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to provide immediate responses to queries over the phone. 
•    Assess funding applications in line with program policies, procedures, and eligibility criteria.
•    Ensure assessments are conducted consistently and fairly, applying professional judgement while following established assessment frameworks.
•    Allocate cases and manage assessment workflows to meet service standards and timeframes.
•    Prepare clear and accurate documentation of assessment outcomes for record-keeping and reporting.
•    Communicate outcomes and provide clarification or follow-up information to internal colleagues and, where appropriate, external stakeholders.
•    Identify potential risks, anomalies, or issues within applications and escalate them for further review when necessary.
•    Contribute to the continuous improvement of assessment processes, tools, and guidance materials.
 

About the team

This is your opportunity to join the growing Deloitte Bendigo office as a client-facing Claims and Grants Officer within Forensic Managed Services. Working across Claims projects, and as a funding assessment officer.  The role requires you to work initially as part of the inbound Claims team, while Security Clearances and onboarding is processed to additionally join the Funding Assessment team. 

As part of the Claims team, in a client facing role, you will be part of a call-taking response team of qualified professionals providing support to the larger forensic team as required.

Our client base includes many large corporates and household names along with smaller companies and key internal stakeholders.  As part of the assessment team, you will be responsible for reviewing and assessing applications for a Program, ensuring that decisions are consistent, transparent, and aligned with Program guidelines.

You will have excellent communication and customer service skills (written and verbal) with active and empathetic listening skills. You will be self-motivated with a high level of attention to detail, ability to understand client requirements and develop relevant solutions.

You may have all or some of the following skills / experience:
•    Strong analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail.
•    Ability to interpret program guidelines, policies, with supporting documentation.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain outcomes clearly and respectfully.
•    Strong organisational and time-management skills to manage competing priorities.
•    Commitment to consistency, fairness, and the principles of inclusion.
Technical capabilities
•    Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
•    Good technology end user skills.

 

Australian citizenship for AGSVA baseline security clearance is a requirement.
