Our specialist Valuations team provides valuation opinions and advice in situations of strategic change and commercial importance. We assist clients in managing and reporting on value for a variety of purposes, including mergers & acquisitions, strategy selection, financial reporting, tax, and litigation. We value enterprises, shares and intangible assets (such as technology and brands) across all industries. We are a passionate and supportive team who work collaboratively across a diverse range of projects in an environment that fosters wellbeing and rewards success.
We are Australia’s leading and fastest growing corporate valuations team and are currently recruiting at the Manager/Associate Director level in Adelaide.
What will your typical day looks like?
Your work will be varied and will offer an outstanding opportunity to develop your pre-existing technical skillset whilst taking up a key role in project management and executing a range of complex engagements such as high-profile transactions involving private companies and ASX-listed corporates, large scale or unique business/asset valuations, and complex valuations involving bespoke modelling and analytics.
You will be exposed to a range of clients, including large private companies, multi-nationals, high-growth companies, financial institutions, private equity and legal firms.
More specifically, working in a supportive and collegial team, you will be involved in:
- financial and market research, analysis and benchmarking
- consideration of the appropriateness of various valuation methodologies and employing these methodologies including discounted cash flow, earnings multiples, excess earnings, comparative sales and replacement cost methods, capital asset pricing model, etc
- bespoke financial modelling to facilitate the valuation including scenario, sensitivity and statistical analysis
- preparation for and participation in client meetings and presentations
- preparation and review of valuation reports and other client deliverables
- project management including managing client relationships and engagement budgets
- business development initiatives to support practice growth, both with the Partner in the team, and through your personal networks
- coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team

Enough about us, let’s talk about you
Our preferred candidate is a valuation-enthusiast and a natural collaborator who can think unconventionally, apply commercial thinking and challenge the status quo in designing solutions to real and technical problems. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- 5+ years of business and intangible asset valuation experience gained in professional services, or a similar environment – this is provided as a guide only; please do not let this discourage you if you think you have something to add to our team
- in-depth understanding of generally accepted valuation methodologies: cost, market and income methodologies
- competency in, or a keen interest in further developing complex valuations, modelling or data analysis including the use of Visual Basic, SAS, Monte Carlo, etc.
- sound commercial awareness, an interest in market conditions and how value is derived
- experience with managing multiple projects and multiple team members
- an interest in pursuing business development activities internally and externally
- a proactive approach and an interest in delivering quality outcomes while working in a fast-paced environment.
